review: san francisco’s ferry plaza farmers’ market
i recently took a long overdue trip up the coast to visit some friends in san francisco. the weather was beautiful, so we mostly frolicked and ate all sorts of tasty goodies.
each day held a new adventure, and on saturday morning that adventure was taking the bus across town to the ferry plaza farmers’ market.
the first thing on our list–and apparently a lot of other people’s–was to get a cold brewed coffee from the good people at blue bottle. cold brewed coffee tastes significantly different than brewed coffee. it is way less bitter and this particular blend had hints of chicory and cinnamon. i highly recommend it.
then all was needed to sustain us for the better part of the day was a taste of this and a nibble of that, samples as far as the eye could see. fruits, veggies, salts, sugars, olive oils and vinegars, if it was at the market then there was a sample of it.
we even got free dark chocolate bars and rosemary plants from the good people at dagoba!
this market is a lot larger than most i’m used to going to here in LA, and beautifully set right beside the bay. it’s every saturday from 8-2 around the ferry building. if you live in the area you should definitely check it out!
